Through five years (1955 to 1960) on CBS, director Alfred Hitchcock hosted the television anthology series Alfred Hitchcock Presents. The 39 half-hour episodes included in this 5-disc DVD box-set of the 1957-1958 season originally aired in black-and-white and boasted such guest-stars as Peter Lorre, Vincent Price, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy, Jack Klugman, William Shatner, and Joseph Cotton.

In “The Diplomatic Corpse” (Dec. 8, 1957), Lorre plays “Tomas Salgado”, a Mexican police official who tries to help George Peppard and Mary Scott locate the missing body of Scott’ elderly aunt (Isobel Elsam).

'Red Skelton Unreleased'
Red Skelton Unreleased

Peter Lorre was a favorite of actor and comedian Red Skelton, who attended his funeral with Vincent Price in 1964. Over the long run of Red’s CBS comedy-variety TV series of the 1950s and 1960s, Lorre made at least eight appearances.

The Red Skelton estate has released in a 6-DVD box-set 16 episodes originally airing between 1959 and 1962, with guests such as Vincent Price, Jayne Mansfield, Mickey Rooney, Cesar Romero, and Peter Lorre. Includes two bonus discs.
